Issue with TIR4 & 4.1.30 software

Several other people have reported issues lately and I think there's something funky that some of us are experiencing with 4.1.30....
As background, I use mine primarily for Falcon (AF, RV, etc). Got 20 years of flying Falcon behind me. Had a 1st gen TIR and got a TIR4 almost as soon as it came out. I do not have the Pro clip - just the vector clip.
I am posting this now because I have gone conclusively through all possible settings (unless there's some hidden/secret menus...)
4.1.28 and 4.1.29 work fine for me. Perfectly. No complaints.
4.1.30 is another story. I've been through all the smoothing, light filtering, dot size, response curves etc. multiple times, but .30 gives me nothing but erratic behavior. I realize not everyone is having this issue, but several of us are and I've talked to friends of mine who are similarly techno-literate in Falcon and their TrackIR - suffice it to say that I am very, very positive it's not something we're all doing wrong.
My "tracking" window shows nothing but the 3 green dots from my clip. No light bleed, I'm not running off the "edge", etc. I've set it up very carefully. The problem is very obvious in the "heads" view (let alone in Falcon!). If I just move my head a tiny bit, it tracks OK. If I look down far enough to look at my keyboard, the "your head" gets jumpy and the "game head" spins around to all sorts of impossible angles and cannot be focused "forward" again without a recentering.
After a month of using my TIR less and less because of that I remembered that the problem first showed up when I upgraded to .30 to help out a friend with issues. So I went back to 4.1.28 - it works perfectly. 4.1.29 works perfectly also. 4.1.30 does not.
I've gone back and forth several times between versions and I cannot get .30 to work like .28 and .29.
