Re: PROBLEM!!! I can´t install driver for TIR4 on xp64
Have you made any changes to the system recently?
Have you tried the device on another system?
Are you plugging in directly to the system, or are you using a hub?
Have you tried isolating the device on the USB ports?
Have you tried turn off any kind of power save feature for your USB ports?
In the "Device Manager" you can right click the "USB Hub"(s), that show, and then select properties. On the power management tab, uncheck the box that allows the computer to turn off the USB port to save power (i.e. uncheck the box). Sometimes that has an impact on the connectivity of the devices.
Remove the TrackIR software by doing the following:
a. Click "Start"
b. Click on the "Control Panel"
c. Click "Add/Remove Programs"
d. Find "TrackIR" and click "Change/Remove"
e. Once launched it will give the option to completely remove it.
f. Delete the NaturalPoint folder at the following location, C:\Program Files\NaturalPoint
g. Download and reinstall the software from the following location,
http://www.naturalpoint.com/trackir/06- ... nuals.html

After reinstall the software, when i plug the device , the problem remains, even selecting the manual instalation of npusb3.inf driver there is an error message "there are not x64 based driver for the device at this location".
I have try to change de default installation folder (C:program files(x86) but doesnt work.

Re: PROBLEM!!! I can´t install driver for TIR4 on xp64
Hi again!!!After all this time, my problem was not resolved at all.. So I demand suport and help to can use again this wonderfull device!!!
After beeing installing/ unisntalling at diferent folders, removing the software, using npregfix.exe the result is the same... does not work.
So, after try to install the software, when i pluged the device the pc doesnt recognized the trackir even after pointing manually the drivers folder...even after select the driver to install...the answer of my pc is that there are not drivers for this device or in the second case, that this driver is not made for work on x64 os system ( the mine is windows xp 64)
Today at the installog i have find some errors that i donk know what it means. this is the installog:
1-19-2008
Install Log Entry Begin (Installation):
De-Install USB Drivers for 2K/XP
Found file (removing) : C:\WINDOWS\inf\oem12.inf
So i hope you can help me, please. Thak you
Frank

Re: PROBLEM!!! I can´t install driver for TIR4 on xp64
So it does detect the hardware, but not that those are the proper drivers for the TrackIR unit?
It still works on another system?
Do you have the latest motherboard bios installed?

Re: PROBLEM!!! I can´t install driver for TIR4 on xp64
when I plug the trackir the system detect the divice as "usb device" and when i try to install the drivers after the instalation manager ends looking for the software, there is a window that says that the hardware was not installed because couldnt find the nedded software.Even when i select the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\NaturalPoint\TrackIR4\Drivers.
Yes, the device works fine in other pcs.
I have the latest motherboard bios installed and i have no power restriction for usb devices on my pc?
Any idea?

Re: PROBLEM!!! I can´t install driver for TIR4 on xp64
Well, if it is working on another system, then the issue is with the XP 64-bit system. Several things could be wrong/tried..........
1 - The USB power, acroos the system, isn't supplying enough amperage to fully 'turn on' the camera firmware, thereby not allowing the system to see the drivers provided as the correct ones.
2 - You can try using an external USB hub, which has it's own power supply.
3 - There maybe an issue with the USB portion of the OS, which erquires that it needs to be reinstalled.

Re: PROBLEM!!! I can´t install driver for TIR4 on xp64
If you are having any type of problems with the 64bit drivers the best solution is to download the latest set of drivers from Naturalpoint as the ones provided on the latest disc do not allways work. if you check:
C:\ WINDOWS\SYSTEM\DRIVERS\npusb 64.sys
it should be version 3.2.0030.0 date 23 March 2007
NOT 3.2.30.0 date 06/12/2006
Good Luck
