Hi people,
when I connect Trackir to USB port everytime I get a message from Windows XP that connect this device to faster USB which is at list. At this moment message popup shows me a list which ports are supporting USB 2.0
Anyway already I've last model system which is eVGA nvidia 680i board, C2D E6600, 2Gb DDR2 Ram and 8800GTX. I tried every USB socket on mainboard but all time I got this message. I use lastest version of trackir software.
Second problem is sometimes Trackir is stoping to work byself at windows screen. So I must plug off than plug-on again to make it work.
So is there solutions for those problems? Thanks!

1 - The 2.0 warning is an issue with the chipset not reporting the device properly.
You can make sure that you have the latest chipset drivers, and motherboard bios installed, and this may reslove the warning issue. It is just an error in the reporting it is working just fine otherwise.
2 - Are you plugging in directly to the system, or are you using a hub?
Have you tried isolating the device on the USB ports?
Have you tried turn off any kind of power save feature for your USB ports?
In the "Device Manager" you can right click the "USB Hub"(s), that show, and then select properties. On the power management tab, uncheck the box that allows the computer to turn off the USB port to save power (i.e. uncheck the box). Sometimes that has an impact on the connectivity of the devices.

I'm having exactly the same issue, also with a 680i motherboard.
Based on the speed of the data transfers to and from my external hard drives (which, when turned on, do populate in the list of devices on the 'hi-speed hub' that XP provides when I plug the TrackIR in), 2.0 is working properly. I just can't seem to get the TrackIR to be picked up as a 2.0 device, even when I hot swap the plug w/ one that I just had the external HDs on and registering as a hi-speed device.
In the system/hardware devices list, on the root hub devices - one of them shows my HDs connected to it when they are turned on, and the other shows my game controllers, mouse, keyboard, etc and the TrackIR when it is installed. If I take one of the HDs out and plug the TrackIR into the same spot, the HD drops off of that list, but the TrackIR still causes the message to come up, and it appears on the OTHER root hub list instead. I did ensure that all power-save features were turned off on both hubs, but that did not resolve the issue.
The device SEEMS to be working fine, though I don't have a baseline to compare it to - but the message is getting annoying!
Here's the main system specs, if it helps:
EVGA 122-CK-NF68-A1 LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 680i Motherboard
2 x EVGA GeForce 8800GTX Video Cards
Intel Core 2 Extreme QX6700 Kentsfield 2.66GHz LGA 775
Windows XP Pro w/ SP2 (retail version)

It is just an issue with the way the chipset detects the hardware. There might be a way to disable the warning, in the system bios..........
