I didn't want the SmartNav software to load every time Windows did, but it's doing so even though I made sure the "run at startup" option wasn't highlighted. I tried disabling it from msconfig, but it still ran (preceded by an error message for two), then my computer would lock up when I tried to use the DragonDictate MouseGrid to close it.

I tried downloading the newer version (not the beta), but it's still exhibiting the same behavior.

Any ideas? I'm running Windows XP Pro.

It is safe to download and use the Beta version, you can get it directly at:

There are some nice upgrades in it.

The software should not run on startup if the option is not checked or you don't have the EXE in your startup folder.

Upgrade the newer version and let me know what happens.
