I have installed and uninstalled the latest software. Each time the computer cannot find the driver. I am at my wit's end.
HP NC6400 with Vista Enterprise and IR3 plugged right into USB port.

1 - Have you tried manually pointing to the drivers?
They should be located in the NaturalPoint\TrackIR4\Drivers folder.
2 - Which version of Vista - 32bit, or 64-bit?
3 - The 4.1.030 Final B version, correct?
4 - Have you moved USB ports?
5 - Have you tried turn off any kind of power save feature for your USB ports?
In the "Device Manager" you can right click the "USB Root Hub"(s), that show, and then select properties. On the power management tab, uncheck the box that allows the computer to turn off the USB port to save power (i.e. uncheck the box). Sometimes that has an impact on the connectivity of the devices.
