trackir4 pro not working

My trackir4 pro use to work fine. I moved recently and set my system up again. I plugged it back in and the red light is on very dim. I unplugged my cougar, which was working fine, and plugged the trackir in to that usb plug and I still get the same thing. When I open the trackir icon,it says " no device detected". I tried the registry fix and it says that "no device detected that needed to be fixed". I am not sure what to do next. BTW...serial number is 0xxxxxx.

Have you tried the device on another system?

What OS are you running?

What version of the TrackIR software are you runing?

Are you plugging in directly to the system, or are you using a hub?

Have you tried isolating the device on the USB ports?

Have you tried turn off any kind of power save feature for your USB ports?

In the "Device Manager" you can right click the "USB Root Hub"(s), that show, and then select properties. On the power management tab, uncheck the box that allows the computer to turn off the USB port to save power (i.e. uncheck the box). Sometimes that has an impact on the connectivity of the devices.

No.. I have no other system.
I have windows xp
I tried it with the original software then updated to 4.1.030 and neither worked.
I have no hub. It is direct. The same plug that my trustmaster cougar worked perfectly well in.
I have 8 usb ports and it doesnt work in any of them.
I turned off all power save features in the usb ports. A month ago it worked fine without having to go through all of that.

I did a complete uninstall. Went into " run, regedit" and deleted every file that had the name naturalpoint, did a complete Install and still nothing. The light is a very dim red on top of the trackir.

Sounds like the hardware itself might have failed - testing on another system can verify......

I will take it to my computer at the shop in the morning and try it out. If I still have the same problem, do I have to buy another one or is this under any kind of warranty?

I plugged the trackir in on the computer at the shop. If it is suppose to be plug and play, then mine is not. The computer did not recognize it and the red LED was real dim. This is the same thing it was doing on my home computer. Any ideas ?

Well it is looking like the hardware itself has failed....

The product has a 1 year warranty, but it appears that it is outside of that time period.

I understand. Well, if the product does not last more than 2 years, concidering the money I have to pay for it, then I probably won't be buying another. Just a warning for everyone else reading this post. Don't expect the Trackir4 Pro to last more than 2 years, because, from my experience, it won't happen. It worked good for the little time that I had it though.

I'm sorry you feel that way, but unfortunately hardware sometimes fails.
