USB 2.0 in Vista

Hi There! Brazilian salutes!

See if you can help with my problem: Im using TrackIR 4 under Vista 32 Ultimate with the latest drivers (4.1 Build 30). Every time I connect the USB cable, I receive a "This device can perform faster" and then OS shows a hub with a lot of available USB 2.0 ports. Looking through the device manager Im able to see the two different USB Host Controllers (one of them Enhanced 2.0!). I have others 2.0 devices working nicely, but the TrackIR is always under the non-enhanced USB Host Controller (1.1).

The SiSoftware Sandra identifies TrackIR as a version 2.0 device but also tells that it is working at Full Speed (12 Mbps) instead of High Speed. BTW, Ive a A8N32SLI DeLuxe Mobo with the latest BIOS.

Although its working, sometimes I notice a staggering in the IL2 game when I turn my head. Ive been wondering if its not been caused by the USBs lack of speed.

Thanks in advance.

The USB 2.0 warning is just a reporting error, that some system bios chipsets report in error. It usually can be resolved with a bios setting, or bios update.

Also this would not cause a "staggering" in an application such as IL2.

For that take a look at your tracking screen, within the TrackIR software, and see if you have any red/white dots on the tracking screen.

Also make sure you have updated to the latest Trackir software.

Remove the TrackIR software by doing the following:
a. Click "Start"
b. Click on the "Control Panel"
c. Click "Add/Remove Programs"
d. Find "TrackIR" and click "Change/Remove"
e. Once launched it will give the option to completely remove it.
f. Delete the NaturalPoint folder at the following location, C:\Program Files\NaturalPoint
g. Download and reinstall the software from the following location,

Vincent, thanks for your answer. Here are my replies:

My bios is the latest one and I believe my settings are right because, as Ive said, there are others USB 2.0 devices working well. And also SiSoftware Sandra reports that TrackIR is working at only Full Speed (12 Mbps) instead of High Speed (480 Mbps). It also says that TrackIR USB version is 2.0! Why it is not under the Enhanced USB Host like the others 2.0 devices?
Also this would not cause a "staggering" in an application such as IL2.

For that take a look at your tracking screen, within the TrackIR software, and see if you have any red/white dots on the tracking screen.
The "staggering" only happens when I move my head more rapidly and there were no others dots than the clips green ones. As I use a GeForce GTX 8800, my FPS is always high and it is a pity that when I try to take a glance at one of my sides or up or down the movement is not smooth.
Also make sure you have updated to the latest Trackir software.
Although sure that I was using the latest software, I went to the Vista Control Panel\Programs and Features and removed the old installation. I also removed the folder and went through the registry and deleted all references to TrackIR software. Then I downloaded the program again from the link you provided and the problem continues.

Are you sure that there was no problem with this Vista driver? Perhaps in the way it registers itself when installed? I believe the device is meant to work at High Speed, no?

No it is a 1.1 device. That gets detected incorectly by some system bios settings..........

Try adjusting the smoothing settings, within the profile you are using for IL2.
