Will Sega Rally Revo work with TrackIR?

Post by guybo »

SRR will come out in early October, but I haven't found anything about it working with TIR. Will TIR and SRR work together? If it eventually does, I hope the support is better than it was for Dirt. Only using the TIR in the cockpit view sucks. It should be available for each onboard view at the very least.

Hi Guybo,
it is highly unlikely that we'll see SRR support, but we will keep working on it.

Please don't get angry at DiRT for only supporting TrackIR in the cockpit. They weren't going to support it at all, and at the last minute a very cool developer there convinced the higher ups that TrackIR was worth supporting.

If the community reaction to this last minute gambit is "what you did sucks, you should do a lot more support or none at all" then they'll probably just pass on support altogether in the future.

These days with more and more games popping up on consoles as well as PCs, it's hard to convince big companies to support a high-end PC-only feature. We appreciate your honesty, but I hoped to sneak in my little "positivity on the internet" request, just in case it'll help us get into more games. :)

When it's done right, I will by games just because they support the TIR. When it's not done right they should not even bother. My positivity comes when I lay down the cash for a game. If a game does not support TIR out of the box for now on I am not even going to bother. If it does support TIR (racing games now) then I am all over it and will not only buy the game but encourage friends to also.

Hell, I still play CRC 2005 because the TIR is just awesome in the game. I am about to trade in Dirt because it was a waste of money. I will never buy anymore garbage from Codewasters. The other games I have been positive about with my money have been rFactor, RBR, Race07.

False positivity won't really encourage much of anything. Doing something half-assed won't accomplish much. Doing something right will sell units. I understand where you are coming from, but the fact is- Codewasters half-assed the TIR support.
