TrackIR Startup Issues and Centering in Vista/IL2

I have TrackIR 4 with 64 bit Vista (I Used XP successfully for years). After starting TrackIR I Start IL2 Sturmovik 1946... 408m. The centering feature and the on/off feature do not function either from the keyboard (F12 and F9) or from my controllers (CH Flighterstick, pro throttles, and pro pedals). Otherwise it seems to function OK. Outside the game using the "heads" and other trackIR Test functions it seems to work fine. Any suggestions?

Is there a setting within the gaming application that might be using those keys?

I checked in the game and there are no items with either F9 or F12 in use.

So if you change the hot key settings, within the TrackIR software to a key function on the joystick, it also does not work within the game?
But works fine from within the TrackIR software?
Are you running the CH Control Manager software, any thing conflicting there?

I haven't tried changing the TrackIR buttons in trackIR 4... ie the F9 and F12 Keys... they still function as the default settings.
I have mapped my CH Control Manager software to allow a button on my fighter stick to press the F12 Key... I've tested the button within the control manager software and it confirms I'm pressing the F12 function key. I've even tested the button from the fighterstick to the TrackIR software "Heads" test function and it confirms that I'm centering the device. When I start the game the centering function doesn't work.

Well, it sounds like a conflict, once the gaming application starts....
I would just map the re-centering value, to the joystick, directly within the TrackIR software, and eliminate the "macro"

I guess I'm not sure what you mean. How do I map the joystick function in TrackIR Software? What function would it be? I've tried mapping the F12 function directly in the Control Manager software... if that's what you mean and that didn't work either. It is strange... Something happens when I start the game that interups the communication from the controller through the keyboard to TrackIR. All the other functions seem to work... i.e. controller inputs through the keyboard to the game... changing flaps, gear, weapons, etc... By the way I do have TrackIRuse in the config file set to "1".

Within the TrackIR software, under the combat flight profile, hotkeys, try selecting a joystick button, as a re-centering button.

OK, I tried your suggestion and still no go. The centering feature won't function once the game is started and up. I can minimize the game and center it with F12 on the keyboard but not from the controller... even though I can center it using the controller when the game is not running or minimized. This is not a change... it's been this way all along.
??? Bonz.

Have you changed the hotkey buttomn for center to the joystick button, instead of F12, or are you using the joystick software to map the f12 key.........
