Hi:

The calibration tool crash in the following situation:

- In the result window, I load a calibration file generated previously.
- I occlude one of the cameras, for instance, passing my hand in front of it a few times.

After that, the program freeze. Some times, a point that is in the floor suddenly appear under the floor.

Any comments?

Regards,
Alejandro.

Which version of the software you running?

Which version of the OptiTrack SDK are you running?

How many cameras?

What OS?

What type of hardware (laptop/desktop)?

1 - I would recommend installing the latest versions of the OptiTrack SDK (Public Beta - Version 1.1.032 beta 02), and the latest version of the Point Cloud software (Public Beta - Version 1.1.032 beta 03).

They can be found at the following location.

http://www.naturalpoint.com/optitrack/s ... loads.html

2 - Are you plugging the cameras directly into the laptop, or are you using a hub?

I will try with that.

With the beta version, the program doesn't crash. However, after passing my hand in front of one of the cameras briefly, the point "jumps" to the wrong position. Passing the hand again, makes the point jump again. Sometime to the right position, sometimes to another wrong position. I have some screen shots showing the problem, that I can send you.

When you run the calibration calculations, what are you getting for results on the error for each camera?

This is after running the calibration, with the new software?

Could you send me a copy of the screen images, as well as your calibration results to support?

On a side note -

Passing a hand within a few inches in front of a camera can generate "a very large number of detected markers", which you should avoid doing. Does your application require this?

No. I use this to replicate the error. The real error happened when a colleague stood close to the camera.

Certain situations, like the one you describe, can stall the calibration tool. We plan to have this resolved in the next release. Is it causing a problem in your particular application?
