hello everyone.
i'm having trouble with smartNAV (3.20.030 [not beta]) and vista home premium. i installed the drivers by double clicking .exe provided by naturalpoint, and it works fine by itself, but i installed an onscreen keyboard and tried to run the program and i couldn't open it using the dwell clicker program that came with the drivers, but it wouldn't execute so i had my dad open it, and as soon as he did the curser (smartNAV) stopped. the curser would work with the touch-pad, but i couldn't get the
smartNAV to work at all, and that's not the only program that smartNAV froze on, the windows default keyboard, skeleton key on-screen keyboard, even the msconfig program froze smartNAV.
my tech level is average to high with xp, but i'm a complete newb when it comes to vista.here are the the specs for the[ vista laptop (currently waisting space in my closet):
gateway MT6840 : 2.0ghz core duo (not core2 duo) processor, shared video 8-254mb (currently at just under 70 mb) 1 gb ram (memory) upgraded to 2 gb.
my dad (my hands ) visits mon and tue from 7pm to 9pm, and fri 7pm to 12am so if you can think of

anything please don't be shy, and thanks in advance.

Well, a couple of thing.....

1 - We do have a known issue with the keyboard built into Vista. It has been added to the bug list for the SmartNAV.

2 - Using the Click-nType keyboard that we ship - It was developed by Lake software (http://cnt.lakefolks.org)

They have the following tips for getting there software to work in Vista...........

NOTE: Please help us help you. We expect Click-N-Type to work with Vista but are unable to test it directly. We do know of the following requirements:
- Installing Click-N-Type must be done as an Administrator. To do this:
1) Download and save the installation file to disk. Do not attempt to run without saving it to disk.
2) Right click on the saved installation file and select "Run as Administrator".
3) If you intend to use word prediction make sure the user has full control to the "Program Files\Click-N-Type" directory. This is set on the Properties / Security tab for the directory.
If you still have problems try using XP compatibility mode on either the installation program or the application itself. To do this try right-clicking on CNTzip.exe (or Click-N-Type.exe once installed) and setting it to "XP SP2 Compatibility"

3 - The MSConfig program, is a admin level application, which has different permission requirements, which is setup differently within Vista. One way to work around the issue is to change the User Access Control settings.

4 - In regards to the dwell software, within it's setup, try selecting the Windows 2000/xp mode.
