Is my Track IR 4 dead ??

Ive had my Track IR4 Pro with VE 10 months ago and it worked well, but yesterday it ceased to function normally.
When I launch the software, the top led turns green for 2 sec and then goes black. The blue led flickers periodically and the software main window indicates Status: No Data. Software detects when I launch game but the tracking window remains grey and does not show any dot. Its like my TackIR was turning itself into the Stand Bymode.
Ive tried all the tricks noticed on this forum: uninstall/reinstall, different USB ports tested, isolating the device, plugging in directly to the motherboard, etc...
I verified no power settings applied to USB, unchecked the box that allows the computer to turn off USB ports, all with no change !
Last, Ive tried the device on two other computers at home and it does exactly the same dysfunction. Notice that I tried re-using my old TrackIR 3 and it works fine on these systems.
So, it seems my Track IR 4 has the same problem than several customers here. Regarding the few hours Ive used it and its price, I hope it is no already dead...
Regards

Mine just started doing the same thing, I know it began almost one week ago. I viewed the heads and they were just still/inactive with the TrackClip PRO on my headphones. I read the troubleshooting FAQ and found that unplugging it from the back of my DELL XPS-710 (built in May 2007) after shutting down the TrackIR software, waiting 30 seconds, plugging the USB back in, restarting TrackIR Software (latest version), that TrackIR worked just fine. It's just downright odd that my 2nd favorite piece of flight simulator hardware is doing this. (My favorite flight sim hardware is the Thrustmaster Cougar HOTAS w/ Simped F-16C rudder control system.), though it really isn't complete without the TrackIR4 + TrackClip PRO. I'll do what you informed Artois to do, contact
support@naturalpoint.com with my S/N and this issue.

Thanks for help Sniper,
My problem seems more serious than yours as I don't see anything in the tracking window (no head, no dot)
I just tried your trick but unfortunately, the problem remains the same...
I was like you: as many flight sim enthousiasts, TrackIR was my favorite device, but I'm now really disappointed considring durability vs price.
My last attempt will to contact support by mail, as Vincent advices me... hope is life, isn't it ??

Well, my Track IR4 with VE is about a year and 1/2 old. Worked great until this morning and now it appears to be completely dead. When I start the software, Status is "No Device". No lights on the unit, tracking screen is blank. Uninstall/reinstall, tried all USB ports, used device manage to prevent power turned off to ports...no go. Also tried it on two other 'puters with same results. This is a sad day...best thing I've purchased for FS and its not the same without it. I'll forward info as above and hope for the best.
Regards,
Don

Please send support the following info -
Nature of the issue
What is the Serial # of the device?
It should be located on the end of the cable, near the USB plug, or on the underside of the device.
Could you send us a copy of the Setupapi.log file?
It should be located in the C:\Windows folder
Have you tried the device on another system?
Are you plugging in directly to the system, or are you using a hub?
Have you tried isolating the device on the USB ports?
Have you tried turn off any kind of power save feature for your USB ports?
In the "Device Manager" you can right click the "USB Root Hub"(s), that show, and then select properties. On the power management tab, uncheck the box that allows the computer to turn off the USB port to save power (i.e. uncheck the box). Sometimes that has an impact on the connectivity of the devices.
Could you attach a screen shot of your Device Manager (showing USB), and tracking screen (TrackIR software -> View -> Tracking)?
To make Print Screen work, you must save an image of what's displayed on-screen to the clipboard and then paste it into a document where it can be printed.
Windows Help: Print Screen
To do this, follow this procedure:
1. Maximize the window you'd like to capture.
2. To copy/capture the current window, hold down ALT + Print Scrn at the same time. To capture the entire screen, just press Print Scrn alone.
3. Open a new document in MS Paint, MS Word, MS Photo Editor, or Adobe PhotoShop.
4. Paste the screen shot by holding down CTRL and V at the same time.
5. Save the document as a .JPG or .JPEG file and send it in.
