Hello,

I've got two OptiTrack V100 connected in a USB hub and this in a HP PC. When I start the PC, it doesn't run properly; i've got to disconnect the cameras to allow the PC to starts. Has anybody have the same problem? Has anybody what is the problem?
I've change in the BIOS setup the order of loading the configuration and the USB Device is the last.
And I've disconnect the cameras from the HUB and the problem dissapear.

Thank's a lot

That's odd. I have an HP Pavilion that I've had semi-permanently connected to 8 cameras for a few months and have not had a similar problem. I'm running Vista on that box.

First order of business would probably be to see if you can troubleshoot the problem down to the camera config. Is it a single camera? Any camera? Over a certain number? What about different USB ports? Different Hubs?

Flash a new bios to the motherboard perhaps?

What OS are you running?

Laptop/desktop?

What model of HP system?

System specifications?

What version of the firmware?

Any fingerprint scanner installed on the system?

Other USB devices installed?

I've always had this problem. I just connect the cams after starting the system. HP core 2 duo 17" laptop, XP, 12 cams. Occurs wheter using hubs or connecting a single camera directly. I haven't tried to start it with cams attached in months though.

Yes, we have seen this problem, but only with HP computers. We tracked it down to a BIOS problem once, for a laptop made in '04, they updated the BIOS once in'06 and then that was it. We believe it to be an HP BIOS or USB chip problem. Strange I know. Vince might be able to help track it down more with your computer specs.

1 - Make sure that you have the latest version installed - 3.03 Rev. A (12 Sep 2007)

2 - Look into the HP ProtectTools Security Manager software. I appears that this has some bios settings, that effect the USB interface.....
