This is very similar to the problems that Frankware had, except I have XP-SP2 32 bit OS and a different error number (Error = 183) --
Received my TrackIR-4 today, (order#29983)
When I install the TrackIR software, the install log says as follows:
------------------------------------

Install Log Entry Begin (Installation):

Latest XP-SP2 Windows update
Tried the registry fix to no avail
Everything you brought up with Frankware about his 64-bit, my answer would be the same.
I tried over a dozen times, using different USB hubs, including twice with the NaturalPoint's latest install file on its web site.
"Run as" admin, even though I'm the only user listed for this OS.
Every time, the TrackIR just blinks blue at me, and the device is not recognized by the TrackIR software (because, as noted in the installation log, the npusb.sys driver simply will not install).
This is not a hardware problem-- it's a device driver installation problem. After over 6 hours of trying, I give up, at least tonight. This is very frustrating. What is error 183???
PS-- I have NEVER had a problem with a device driver not wanting to install on this machine before with all kinds of interfaces and device drivers, including printers, web cam, USB headphones, cell phone interface, MP3 players, joysticks, etc. I've had this computer for almost 2 years.
Thanks in advance for your help with this.
