Hey, how's about a Glossary?

In addition to the FAQ's? Lots of terms/abbreviations that doesn't just spring to mind and (much like when I was in school) I try to figure out what they mean instead of asking.
"What do I want to know?" Everything. Let's start out with "IR" and "IR Lens" and stuff like that... could be beneficial to a few people who visit the site... I"m just saying...

Very funny.
We are working on a long term project like this, kind of like an online manual to Arena, with a terms section. We could make it community based for sure, I will propose that.

Very cool. Here's another question for you guys (I'm not sure if it's been asked already) but how many actual Users know C+? Is this required? I know a little SQL but not C+... will I need to learn this to some degree in order to Use Optitrack or can Users use the "plug and play" method (where the GUI is pretty self explanatory)?
Much appreciated.

It depends on what part of the OptiTrack product line you are looking at......
The SDK uses C+, and you would need to be fairly adept at its use.
The other applications allow for greater control, and are more tuned to be used as plug n' play software

The free baseline OptiTrack SDK has a COM API, so anything with COM bindings might be able to use it in. C++ works, C# works, VB/VB.Net works, python might work. Others might work as well, but we haven't tested them. I'm not sure that SQL would work since it is geared towards databases.
If you are referring to Arena, then there is no programming knowledge required and the UI is intuitive.

Ah yes, I was referring to this: Foundation Plus Motion Capture Package
I just want to
* capture motion (after learning how to set up/calibrate cameras)
* tweak/clean up the motions (if needbe)
* export BVH files
* apply BVH files to 3d Models
* make magic!
That's about it. Sounds like I won't need to get past the Arena software.
