Is it possible to turn off the IR LED's?

Hi there, I got this question coz I've heard that using passive clips would probably cause TrackIR to boost up it's output power for the IR emitters, and that it would heat up the hardware, sometimes to an extent that shortens the lifespan of the device.

I'll either use TrackClip Pro or a third party infra-red lumination device(if applicable) instead of the reflective clip. By doing this I won't need TrackIR's IR output, and I wanna shut those LED's down. Is it possible to do that?

BTW, I purchased some stuff a few hours ago and my order number is xxxxx. I sent an email to sales@naturalpoint.com describing the situation I'm currently in. This is kinda urgent(DO NOT SHIP THE PRODUCT FOR NOW) and I'm expecting a reply from your sales to confirm that the timing specification has been understood. Could someone from NP who read about this thread help me pass this information and get me some confirmation? Thanks a lot.

Thanks with best regards,
Alex Young

The sales department should be contacting you thru email -

In regards to the support question -

Yes it is possible to turn of the camera IR LEDs, and the software does so, by default, when you select the TrackClip Pro in the profile settings.

Thanks Vincent, both for the answers and for masking my order #. Is it normal that I still haven't got any reply from the sales yet? It's been over half a day since I placed that order. I'm ganna be toasted if they start shipping the merchandise right away, coz I've chosen 2nd day mail service and the recipient won't be at the hotel till five days from now. That's why I sent this mail to specify the date of delivery.

Regards, Alex
