Turn TrackIR off automatically

Is there a way to have the TrackIR device turn itself off (to the flashing blue LED state) automatically when no supporting software is running? After running the support software, the device is able to detect software such as Flight Simulator 9. When the game exits though, if I don't remember to quit the TrackIR software, the device stays running and stays hot, which I'm concerned will shorten its life.

Otherwise TrackIR is working very well.

There isn't an autoshutoff option for the software. Currently the only way to due that, is to turn off the TrackIR software.

I usually leave my Trackir on all the time because the blinking light is fairly annoying at night time.

Does leaving the Trackir on have any adverse effects? Like Jorbuc said, it gets pretty hot when you leave it on..

The unit itself is designed to run warm.
