Jerky head movement

Vince, Any ideas on jerky head movement in game?
This problem has plagued me using TrackIR 4 with FSX.
I have latest drivers 4.10.34 and can confirm that there is no light interference causing this. Head tracking screens are fine.
I have uninstalled my antivirus (NOD32) to rule that out also.
Setting device priority to above normal has no effect... still jerky.
I have recently tried a different USB port and I receive a message saying 'Device will perform faster if connected to a USB 2.0 port, click for a list of available ports'
All available ports listed are usb 2.0 (ASUS P5N E SLi plus MB)with latest drivers on OS Win XP SP2. I have re-installed drivers to make sure.
The TrackIR is the only device displaying this and I have other USB 2.0 devices working normally.
Is this the cause of my continuing jerkiness problem?
The TrackIR used to be ok in FS9 but not FSX. Now it is jerky in both platforms. I feel I am going backwards with this TrackIR and it's just too expensive to disregard.
I have posted with this problem on Avsim sometime ago. I have managed to previously get it working great but it keeps regressing to jerkiness. Is the product faulty perhaps?
Product number xxxxxxx.
Please help!
