i've used smartnav for over a year. recently things would be working fine & then the curser would start jumping around with no control, then it would get to where i couldn't move it at all, & then would start working again. i went to troubleshooting & tried everything without any luck. downloaded the most recent software & that seemed to fix it but when i restarted the next day it started jumping all over for about 5min then worked fine. running win xp, useing smartnav version 3.2 build 25. serial #28133. please help!

Please check the tracking tab and verify there is not any stray light causing the cursor to move around.

If this is the case you can turn on light filtering and filter out any unwanted light for your SmartNAV Hands Free Mouse.

If this is not the case please let me know.

i turned on light filtering yesterday & it still happened. not as often as before i updated software. i've even turned all lights off & it still occurs.i always have things in the same place & the same light sorce but it's a recent problem. usually after changing dots i don't have any problems.. it's real frustrating. ajporr

Is there anything in the tracking screen besides your dot when the cursor is moving around?

It seems like it is a tracking issue so you will want to look at the tracking screen when this behavior is occuring to see what the problem could be.

You can also try rolling back to the earlier software version to see if that fixes it.

there is a little white speck that appears & disappears when i move the curser around. i have light filtering all the way up. i've been on the computer about 4hrs now with my normal light source & no problems yet. it seems to happen without any reason that i can figure out. it happened last nite for about 10sec. & all lights were out. that i can tolerate. as long as it doesn't go back to doing it frequently. thx for the help & any other suggestions you mite have. ajporr
