TrackIR getting stuck

I am having a problem with the TrackIR when I use it with IL2, which is the only program I use it with. Sometimes when I go to look down or behind me the view becomes stuck looking at the seat, it can be reset though with a press of F12. The trouble is when you are in a dogfight or dive bombing and it gets stuck it's very hard to press F12 and not crash/lose sight of the enemy. Is there a solution to this or is it normal?

You can also reassign the recenter hotkey to a joystick command.

Also, when looking at the tracking screen, is the view centered, any red on the screen?

There is no red on the tracking screen and it works fantastic using small movements without getting stuck. The problems happen when I look to the extreme of the movement window and then it locks until f12 is pressed.

What version of the software are you using?

The latest final release, not the beta. It did this on previous versions as well.

How far away from the unit are you?

Have you tried remapping the center key to something on your joystick, to make it easier to recenter?

About 2 feet away, not very far anyway. Yes I could map the recenter button to my CH Joystick, just thought there may be a way to stop this happening.

Well, I would also try moving back a little, so the camea has a better coverage area, of your movements

Will try that, so this is not something thats common then? I hoped there might be a setting I could tweak. Oh well thanks anyway.

I am also having the same trouble tir 3 and vector latest full release
it happens in fs9 fsx and lockon and in the head tracking screen
my tir is about 2.5 feet away i get 3 dots on the tracking screen all the time and in the middle when i look down i can still see the 3 dots in the tracking screen
the other thing i have found that when you look straight down in the head tracking view the your head window the head looks down and then turns to the right or left it does not stay centeredeven though im not turning my head
if i look down again it will usually return to normal
i would like t get this sorted as it is very frustrating
in combat in lockon
