,Active Sky Problems

Hi there,

Seem to be having a problem with Active Sky...

Everything was working fine until I ran Active Sky X a few minutes ago and now there doesn't seem to be a connection with FSX anymore. Heads are moving fine in the TrackIR software, and I have a green light.

Saw something about this on the Naturalpoint site, but to be honest it was completely beyond me, so any simple solutions gratefully received!

Many thanks,

Paul

Make sure you have SP2 installed for FSX, as well as the latest version of the TrackIR software.

Thanks for that, but I've installed Acceleration (which includes SP2 I think?) and have the latest TrackIR software (I've tried the latest full version, and the latest beta available).

I'm pretty sure it's something to do with Active Sky as that was thye only change made since the previous time I launched FSX. I don't normally use it, but I thought I'd give it a go and since then the connection between TrackIR and FSX has been lost.

Is the simconnect.xml file installed on your system?

Is that the one in C\windows\winsys\etc?

I have these three:

x86_microsoft.flightsimulator.simconnect_67c7c14424d61b5b_10.0.61259.0_none_55f5ecdc14f60568

x86_microsoft.flightsimulator.simconnect_67c7c14424d61b5b_10.0.61242.0_none_e079b46b85043c20

x86_microsoft.flightsimulator.simconnect_67c7c14424d61b5b_10.0.60905.0_none_dd92b94d8a196297

Each folder has a DLL file inside it which looks completely gobbledygook when I open it up in Notepad.

But you're already beyond me I suspect! All I want to do is play with fast jets :(

Help appreciated though...

No, those aren't the files I was refering to.

If you look in the following folder, C:\Documents and Settings\\Application Data\Microsoft\FSX, do you see a file called simconnect.xml?
