Ok, first post here ;)

The information about Arena Expression on your webpage looks really impressive. I cant wait to put my fingers on this software.

What kind of markers do we need and how do you fix them?

Is it possible to offer a bundle with 5 cameras, software and all the markes we need, like the Foundations Packages? I dont wanna change our "normal" camera setup every time we do facial capturing.

"Scene A/V: Record synchronized audio and video tracks for each take. 3D markers can be re-projected into scene video in real time and offline, providing valuable feedback and a great tool when editing in post."

This funktion would be great for Arena too! Sometimes its good to see what the actor have done during full body motion capture when it comes to process the data in 3ds max or any othe 3d package.

:)

Hello:

Great questions.

- You will need small facial markers, about 3mm diameter at the base. We will be selling these, or you can make your own.

- Yes, there will be a Foundation bundle, and it will come with 6 cameras and markers too.

- Yes, overlayed data for Arena would be great, and we are working on that. It is somewhat easier to do for Expression because you do not need as many cameras for good facial captures, so there is more USB bandwidth available for the gray scale video. Scene AV will be in the next major release of Arena.

Hey Jim,

are the two products completely seperate or does expression act as a plugin for arena?

If the later is true - is the 2k the same fee for arena owners?

Expression will be an alternate mode of ARENA versus standard full body mocap mode.

If only one mode has been purchased, it will work as a standalone product. If both licenses are present then either mode can be selected as needed.

We don't have Expression upgrade discounts for ARENA license holders at the time, but it never hurts to ask ;)

It definately would be nice to have a discount for existing ARENA users. I probably won't make it to siggraph this year so I hope you'll put some videos online soon.

Thanks for information, Jim! About the discount, I agree with Sean and Mark.

I wish you success for the siggraph and I hope you will show the Expression video soon as possible because the siggraph is too far away for me..;-)

Those are cool  . I'd like to see how Expression works when just performing regular speech as opposed to those crazy expressions.

A max plug-in is a great idea. Any more info on this?
