Unless I set "Smoothing" to about 100% (which makes the tracking very sluggish) my view will shake quite bad even though I'm not moving myself. Would getting a Track Clip Pro help me at all? I'm using the TrackIR 3 with the metal vector clip sitting about maybe 4 feet from my 32" Wide Screen TV.

Am I too far away? What could be wrong? I'm hoping the Track Clip Pro (LCD Heaset clipon one) would work better.

That distance should be fine.

When looking at the tracking screen, what do you see here?

Have you tried changing the profile curves to the deadzone settings?
