Device not found

Post by whiplash »

Hey there

I got my trackIR for about 3 days now. it worked fine when i got it and installed it. Immediatly realised i couldn't fly without anymore.

Now, i wanted to clean my desk, so i carefully dismounted all my flight equipment including my trackIR and placed it on the bed. Cleaned everything on the desk and then connected everything back again. But i connected the TrackIR in a diffrent USB port, all i have are onboard USB connectors. TrackIR didn't work anymore, device not found, Blue led blinking meaning it's on stand by.

I tried the other possible USB connectors, still the same.
Then i started fooling around with reinstalls, regedits, system restore. All i got were startup errors and a .dll loop of some kind. So i thought, i'm going to do a fresh install.

Now i completely reinstalled my entire system, installed everything , drivers, the flight sims, the adobe suite, etc etc.
Configured my games, loaded up joystick profiles. Updated windows.

Did the TrackIR last. Ok i made sure it was disconnected, i installed the software from the CD, software ok... Then i connected the TrackIR, asked for drivers and did the "recommended" thingy, then i got a "your hardware has been sucessfully installed", rebooted... opened the software... No device found, blue led still blinking from time to time indicating it's on stand-by

I tried turning every USB device i got to the mode that my computer shouldn't be allowed to turn it off for power savings...

I don't know what to do. I hope i didn't break my preciously new Marvelous trackIR by just disconnecting it and placing it on the bed very carefully

Windows XP SP2 Upgraded to the most recent version
Intel E6850 @ 3.0Ghz
3328MB Ram OCZ Grim Reaper DDR2
GForce 8800GTX

Here's a screenshot of what TrackIR is saying and how my device manager looks... And how the tracking panel is looking

The number on the lable is

PS: I'm using a Trackclip Pro and it worked with that

Ok chief

I tried installing the software on my laptop, and then connect the trackIR

When i open the software it now recognises the device as TrackIR Pro xxxxx, but i'm not getting any infra red leds and at the bottom it says "status no device"

The blue led keeps blinking indicating it's on standby
the tracking screen stays blank like it is in my first screenshot

PS: I bought my TrackIR at Simware Simulations in Brussels, Belgium. I had to wait 4 weeks to get it because they were out and had to have them shipped over.

Ok day 2

I'm beginning to think something is broken
my laptop can't find the device at all too and all i get out of it is a blue led that blinks once in a while.

I mis my trackIR, it's only 4 days old now
hahaha

I hope i can get it fixed within the week
I contacted the store where i bought it and they asked me to send all the info i could give, things i tried, things i did.
They said the last resort was they'll give me a replacement. I'm comforted by that. But maybe it's a software thing

I am having the same problem. Software says No Device. Device manager shows device and says it is working properly. TrackIR unit has flashing blue light only. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the unit correctly three times without any success.

Please send the following information to support -

What is the Serial # of the device?
It should be located on the end of the cable, near the USB plug, or on the underside of the device.

Could you send us a copy of the Setupapi.log file?
It should be located in the C:\Windows folder

Have you tried the device on another system?

Are you plugging in directly to the system, or are you using a hub?

Have you tried isolating the device on the USB ports?

Have you tried turn off any kind of power save feature for your USB ports?

In the "Device Manager" you can right click the "USB Root Hub"(s), that show, and then select properties. On the power management tab, uncheck the box that allows the computer to turn off the USB port to save power (i.e. uncheck the box). Sometimes that has an impact on the connectivity of the devices.

Could you attach a screen shot of your Device Manager (showing USB), and tracking screen (TrackIR software -> View -> Tracking)?

Hi all!

As of this morning my TIR 4/Clip Pro stopped working.
Device is present in the Device Manager. I didn't change my system config.

Symptoms:

* Blue LED flashes in regular intervals.

Case A

* "No device detected" in the TIR SW Main screen

or

Case B
* device detected but "no device" in the status line of the TIR software
* No green LED when clip is in detection range, tracking screen remains grey.

Tried TIR on another computer, same problems plus a red LED on top.

All things described here have been checked and tried to no avail. No hub, unplugged all other USB devices, power save turned off for all devices, software/drivers removed and reinstalled (according to the manual), device deleted from the device manager, registry (USB) manually cleaned, drivers manually deleted, RegFix from this board reports no device to fix. TIR SW version is 4.1 Build 35.

I'm having the exact same problem that Gnarf is having.

Just recieved the Track IR system with the Clip Pro today and from the get go i haven't been able to initialize it.

Everything is installed properly, i've already tried the registry fix and that hasn't worked. Ditto with USB power supply. The registry fix also keeps saying that the there are no devices that need to be fixed. Both lights on the system are also flashing green and blue intermittently together.

I'll email this info to tech support as well. Any help on this will be appreciated.
