Hello,

i'm working on a new project and i've got a question. We are working with Slim V:100 cameras using USB hubs to connect them to the computer, and the software is developed using MFCs. Does exist any limit in the number of camera to be used?

Camera limits :
There is currently a software limit which supports up to 32 USB cameras on a single system at a time. In practice we have only tested up to 24. To capture from this many cameras your application will need to be heavily multi threaded.

USB Bandwidth :
If the cameras are operating in segment or hardware object video modes, then up to 6 cameras per hub should be fine. Full grayscale video mode can use a lot of bandwidth, in those cases its ideal to limit the number of cameras to perhaps 1 or 2 per hub, or adjust the spatial/temporal decimation and frame rate settings until video is stable for all cameras.

Power :
Make sure the hubs are powered and have enough power for all of their attached cameras. Each camera uses about 500mA.
