Strangest thing. A couple of weeks ago, I installed TIR software to run at start-up. Shortly after that I kept getting messages from Cat Control that Crossfire was not enabled. At the time, I didn't relate the two conditions.

In the meantime, I ordered some new hardware from Natural Point (Track Clip Pro) so shut off the TIR software at startup. Didn't get any more Crossfire disabling.

Track Clip Pro arrived yesterday so I re-enabled TIR software at start-up and once again Crossfire gets disabled. To confirm it was the TIR software causing the problem, I have been switching backwards and forwards between disabling and enabling the TIR software and have confirmed it is the culprit.

Any thoughts? This is really quite weird.

What OS are you using?

What version of the TrackIR software, are you using?

Are you plugging in directly to the system, or are you using a hub?

Have you tried isolating the device on the USB ports?

Have you tried turn off any kind of power save feature for your USB ports?

Tried different video card drivers?

I am using Windows XP

Have turned off power saving feature for USB ports but still getting the conflict on boot up.



I am using the Cat 7.11 ATI drivers which are apparently the best drivers for my two X1950XTX cards. I have not tried different video card drivers yet. The newer drivers apparently favor only the newer cards.

Have you heard of this conflict before?

It could be the DirectX drivers that run, when running the software (TrackIR software -> View -> Heads)

Well done Vincent! That's what is causing the issue. I had heads ticked. If you disable heads at startup, Crossfire remains enabled.
