TrackIR 3 not responding in FSX

I've got a problem that just cropped up, and I'm not sure how to go about troubleshooting it. I have a TrackIR 3 Pro unit, TrackClip Pro, and the 4.1.036 version of the TrackIR software. When I start FSX, the blue light on the unit comes on, as does the green LED once the TrackClip is in front of it. However, there's no head motion in FSX/Acceleration. If I go to my flight profile editor in the TrackIR software, it shows the unit tracking properly. The only way for me to get the head tracking working in FSX, however, is to quit the TrackIR software and start it again, with FSX running. Once the TrackIR software initializes again, it always works. This was happening with the 4.1.035 software as well, so I'm fairly sure it's not a new problem with the latest version. Any clues as to what would cause the simulator not to actually show my head tracking?

What version of Windows are you running?

Do you have SP2 installed for FSX?

Any add-on applications installed for FSX?

Any firewall/antivirus software running?

I have similar issues.
The software works and tracks. The blue and yellow lights are on in fsx, but the game does not track head movement - the software seems to though..

Is there a way to reset the contoller in fsx?

Very frustrating - recent issue.

Do you have service pack 2 installed for FSX?

any other add-ons installed for FSX?

Have you tried running both applications as an Admin (Right click on the shortcut-> select run as admin)

yellow on top blue on bottom
had active sky x, but after reaing some of the issues with trak ir here i removed it.
other addons,
xgraphics
fsuipc latest
loads of addon aircraft
orbx ftx scenery packs
some aerosoft packs

i have tried running as admin - no cigar
my firewall is off
I am on accelerator, d'oadded service pack 2 and it says "not required"
this is a clip pro with trackir4.

When looking at the TrackIR software - are the objects being tracked in the tracking screen?

Have you tried pressing F9?

Front Status LED

Off : NO reflective surface is being tracked, and TrackIR Enhanced output is NOT paused.
Green : A reflective surface IS being tracked, and TrackIR Enhanced output is NOT paused.
Orange : A reflective surface IS being tracked, and TrackIR Enhanced output IS paused.
Red : NO reflective surface is being tracked, and TrackIR Enhanced output IS paused.
Flashing Blue or Green : Low power or stand by mode.

yes, tried pausing with f9 about 100 times..

with the colore status, should I be enabling a certain setting for the clip - i have "trackclip pro" enable under motion tracking for the flight profile selected by fsx.

For mine the top light is a yellow - but my wife thinks it's green! - it is more of an amber...

when i pause f12 the light goes orange, then f12 again it goes to the yellowy greeny amber
