Hello,

I'm currently into something that makes me crazy. My TrackIR Pro 4 does not want to work with FSX anymore, since I've made a reinstall of FSX.

The blue LED does not light on anymore. And the Track IR software's still saying: Current Game: None even if FSX is launched.

It was WORKING FINE before (FSX + SP1). I hardly try to remember what I've done other than uninstall/re-install FSX, but I dont see.

I just did another install right now, free of add ons or other stuffs. I just have installed: FSX + SP1 (not SP2, my comp is a bit too old for this kind of new stuffs and as I said TIR was working well with SP1 two days ago)

The device is working fine with other games (IL2 1946 for exemple), the TrackIR software is running correctly and "tracking".
I've checked all hotkeys: the "pause" one is working in game, not "center view" since TrackIR software does not seem to "see" me in FSX.
The TIR LEDs shown are (in FSX): GREEN on top. OFF on bottom

Comp & software spec:
- I'm under WinXP
- TIR software is 4.1 build 36 (already did an uninstall/re-install, and deleted the folder before re-install).
- Game list is up to date.
- I'm the only user of this computer, then I'm the administrator and have all rights on it (since I've seen sometimes it could be a problem for some games + track Ir software). But I also tried not as an admin (for both programs)
- The device is directly plugged to the computer, no hub.

I did many searches on this forum and other boards, I can't find any solutions. Once again, it's working fine with IL2.

Any idea?

There are a few know issues with the way the SimConnect feature, within FSX, worked before SP2. One of those was just to stop responding to Simconnect devices. Unfotunately the TRackIR uses Simconnect to interface with FSX, as many 3rd party hardware/add-ons do.

Are you running any Firewall/antivirus software?

Thanks for your answer. I'm actually trying the "SimConnect trick". I removed the folder from WinSxS and the repair with the FSX DVD is on its way (it's damn slow). I'll let you know.

I was not patching with SP2 because I have some low performance issues with it. I was not looking after that since TIR was working with SP1 before but I'll give it a try.

For the Antivirus/firewall: I use AVG antivirus and default Win XP firewall (which has FSX in its trusted programs)

It's working now, after many many hours of banging my head on my desk.

It was done without installing the SP2, the repair trick with the SimConnect.dll worked fine.
