Keymapping question
Keymapping question
Hi, sorry if this has been posted in the wrong forum.
I am considering purchasing a TrackIR and have been unable to determine if head movements can be translated to key strokes - is this possible?
I am specifically looking at using up and down head movements to map to the keys I would use in a FPS for stand up / crouch. I know the mouselook function can be used on the TrackIR but can I program looking up, down, left, right etc to specific keys that would be translated to an in-game keystroke?
Many thanks for your help.

Re: Keymapping question
I can only say, that the mouselook has too much lag to be effective in a FPS-game, unless youre sniping.

Thanks,
was wondering though if the head movement can be translated into keystrokes?

Re: Keymapping question
A community member created the TrackMapper utility, which will allow you to map to keystrokes, but unfortunately, it's only compatible with 3.x software, which means that you won't be able to use it with TrackIR 4. We can add this capability to our feature wish list for our next software version. That doesn't mean it will make it in, but we'll give it a serious look.

Thank you for your post Seth,
I think I really need to have that functionality so I'll keep an eye out for future developments and will hopefully get one then.

Really? What version of the TrackIR software are you running?
