Hello,
I'm new in OptiTrack. I am using Arena 1.3.0035
I want to export data to motionbuilder.
Trying to do it with Export (in Arena):
I get a note - "An invalid argument was encountered"
Trying to use another computer with motionbuilder:
After "Stream Frames" in Arena (with the correct IP), I open the motionbuilder but I can not see "I/O" in the asset browser.
Please help. I want to use it with my students the day after tomorrow.
Thanks,
Tzach Harari
Export data problem
Re: Export data problem
1 - Do you have the NaturalPoint plugin files installed on the MotionBuilder system?
2 - For the IP address, do you have the address of the MB system, or the Arena system entered?
3 - What version of Windows are you using?

Re: Export data problem
1 - No. The NaturalPoint computer has both Arena and MotionBuilder. I havn't installed Arena on the other computer (where MotionBuilder is running).
2 - The IP adress in Arena - I have tried both addresses. What IP should it be?
3 - I am using Windows XP
4 - What about the problem to Export the data (not online)? I get an error message "An invalid argument was encountered".

Re: Export data problem
1 - When you run Arena installer on the motion builder PC, it will install the plugin.
2 - Can you ping the PC from the other? If not you might want to disable firewall setting while streaming.
4 - Before exporting c3d/bvh files, captured takes needs to be trajectorized first. Right click on take nodes in Assets window and
select Trajectorize

Re: Export data problem
The online option:
I can ping the PC's. I have Arena and motionbuilder installed on both PC's. In arena - What IP I should write?
Yet, when I stream data from Arena and open motion builder on the other PC - I can not see the "I/O" option.
The offline option:
I have made trajectorized, and able to save a bvh and c3d files. I have mennaged to open the c3d in motionbuilder, but can not open the bvh.

Re: Export data problem
The IP address should be the IP addreass of the PC that is streaming the data (the one Arena is running on)
The are not listed in the Asset browser?
When installing Arena, on the MB system, was the MB plugin options checked?
What happens when trying to open the bvh file?

Re: Export data problem
It's easier if you can run Arena and MotionBuilder on same PC. In this case IP address should be left as 127.0.0.1. If you need to run it on different PCs, then IP address is of the PC running Arena.
Which version of MotionBuilder are you running? I believe the plugin is not supported for versions earlier than 7. When you ran the Arena installer on the PC with MotionBuilder, did the installer prompt you where to copy the plugin file?
Can you send .pt2, .pt3, .bvh and .c3d file you are having problem with to support@naturalpoint.com?

Re: Export data problem
I am using MotionBuilder 7 personal learning edition.
I have checked the motionbuilder option at the Arena installation. The location that I gave was C:\Program Files\Alias\MotionBuilderPLE7\bin\plugins
I will send the files.

Re: Export data problem
I don't think PLE version of MB loads plugins, a licensed version is needed.
