Another Vista 64 - black Shark problem
Hello all. This is my first message here so be gentle pleeese !
My TIR4 vector, worked brill with XP and all my sims.On the weekend I upgraded to Vista home premium x64 and after installing the latest software 4.1.036 I am having problems with Black Shark and IL2 1946. Basicaly what happens is that the pitch and yaw axis are both inverted, looking down to view up and looking left to view right and visa versa, and the roll axis is very unstable. The slightest twitch causes the ingame head to either look down and behind to the left or up and behind to the right.
I have temporarily sorted the problem by inverting the x and y axis and disabling the roll axis ! I have been scratching my head over this for a few days!
I have been using the TIR since version 2 vanilla hit the shelves and I think I know what I am doing but this has got me !!
Any help or suggestions would be greatfuly recieved.
Thanks,
Mwchyn

Are you using the metal TrackClip, or the TrackClip pro?
Which option do you have selected in the profiles (TrackClip Pro, or vector)?
Looking at the tracking screen, what do you see here?

Hi Vincent, thanks for replying. I use the Track clip pro, atatched to my headset, left hand side with the longest length led at the bottom.Looking at the Tracking screen,3 green images (led`s) are shown and move as I move my head.Interestingly when the edit profile page is open then I can set and callibrate the in game head to move as per real head but when I exit the edit tab to either main or news the in game head twists abstractly !!
Software related do you think?

Now are you editing the combat flight profile?
Have you also adjusted the other profiles(such as the default profile)

Right, after a little more hard work,if I leave the roll axis unchecked in any profile then the TIR behaves and acts as it should (apart from no roll obviously). If I then check the roll axis then it sends the in game head twisting as above. If I then uncheck the roll axis again, then there is no control over the ingame head in any profile (checked, unchecked and checked again for the main flight, combat flight and default and the Black Shark profile as any of the three).

Remove the TrackIR software by doing the following:
a. Click "Start"
b. Click on the "Control Panel"
c. Click "Add/Remove Programs"
d. Find "TrackIR" and click "Change/Remove"
e. Once launched it will give the option to completely remove it.
f. Delete the NaturalPoint folder at the following location, C:\Program Files\NaturalPoint
g. Download and reinstall the software from the following location,
http://www.naturalpoint.com/trackir/06- ... nuals.html
Also when you reinstall, change the install location to something other than the Program Files folder

New to the board, nice setup!
I'm confused. I have almost the exact same problem, although I have not spent any time trying to fix it yet......I just got the Track IR4 yesterday in the mail.
Are you telling me ( us) that the software has to be installed somewhere other than /program files in Vista 64? and that my software might be out of date?
I had a very short time to play with this yesterday afternoon but did notice that the tracking panel was right on and the LED's are centered, look right ( FSX) and it looks left and vice versa, up was up and down was down but i did notice the same thing that the OP is seeing......when I turn my head to the right....the "mirror head" Snaps upside down and backwards. I'll try to play with the settings tonight but do you recommend installation in other than /programs.....assuming this is a Vista issue?
Cheers.
