Not tracking properly.. Just Trackclip Pro

Post by GedZep »

Hi,

Hope you can help.

When using the trackclip pro and tracking method set to trackclip, I get very eratic tracking and can't find any decent porition where it will track. The status flicks between no data and tracking rapidly. Strangly, when I change the mode to vector, it tracks the track clip perfectly i.e. status stays rock solid on tracking. Of course you can't use it like that, but it's weird.. Luckily the normal head clip works just fine.

I sit about 3 feet from the trackir
OS Vista 64 (run trackir in admin)

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

The TrackClip Pro is mount to the left side of your headset, as well as having the TrackIR mounted to the left side as well?

The longer leg of the Clip Pro is on the bottom of the setup?

When looking at the tracking screen, you see three green dots, fairly vertical, and centered on the screen?

Any red?

TrackClip Pro selected in the different profiles?

Plugged directly into the PC, or using a hub?

Try uninstalling the software, and reinstalling in the following folder -

c:\NaturalPointInstall\

Hi, Tried that no joy! It's very strange, because if I select vector it tracks perfectly (albeit, useless of course) but never says no data, I can pretty much move anywhere and it tracks it. As soon as I select trackclip pro, it becomes incredibly flakey and flicks between no data and tracking intermitently.

Anything else I can try? I've even tried on xp with same results!

Vincent not trying to be a pain here but several people have the same issue and we get circular speak back to correct it. Your statement above is an example, we're asking for help from your company. SO to combine the topic in this thread I have quoted the OP to show what I mean.

To which you respond...........
So when you select trackclip pro, and are using the trackclip pro, on the left sidfe of headset, looking at the tracking screen no IR points are being lost still see only the 3 green, no red?
Now we are back to the beginning of which he has already answered........this is fairly frustrating as a consumer.

He's done everything you have suggested but then you ask the same questions, again! I purchased this thing and had a hell of time getting the track clip pro to work........the vector clip runs flawless. If I would have known that when I purchased it, I would not have opted for the Pro Clip, as it doesn't seem to work properly or at least not as advertised. I would assume someone is looking into why it doesn't work properly, rather than having circular thread answers! I posted with values to get mine to work, which took me better part of 1/2 hour to work out, I didn't even get so much as a response to the thread from you! It is still erratic but useable......like several others, we are waiting for a fix and all asking the same questions.........in several threads. What gives? Sorry to be so forward but I am very frustrated with your customer service!

If you can't fix it, say you can't fix it or your working on the problem but as you can tell in these Track Clip Pro threads, more than ONE person has the EXACT same problem with erratic behaviour, specifically "head turn to the right".....

OK, I am not trying to give anyone the run around.

Part of the issue comes from more than one person posting in a thread, saying they have the same issue, and not being able to determine what steps have, or have not been taken.

And as a diagnostic tool, we alwways need to go over the simple things, to eliminate them, as this eliminates 99 percent of all issues.

If you would like further help with your particular issue, please email support with the nature of your issue, screen shots of your different profiles, tracking screen, and troubleshooting steps taken.
