Calibration with alternative Cam Setup?

Hello?

currently I'm working for bachelor thesis in my university.

I only have a truss which is only about 2,5 meters x 2,5 meters.
We have a 16 camera system.

I've installed 4 Cameras per Corner at 4 Height Levels:

Now i want to use the 8 upper Cameras for the upper body
and the lower 8 Cameras for the legs and feet. So i've pointed the cameras accordingly.

Is it possible to use the optitrack system like this?
I've always get bad calibration results with this setup.

Is it possible to divide the Capture Area into 2 Areas which will be cover each by 8 cameras?

How does the Calibration Process works then?
How many Cameras have to see the calibration wand simultanously when i wave it during the calibration process?

Thank you very much

The software/calibration is designed to work with the cameras all pointed at one area. It is the overlap of the camera views, that allow it to track objects in a 3d area.

Currently the software is not designed to work with 2 seperate sub capture volumes.

Also, your setup area is very small, as the capture area is going to be half of your setup area so a setup of 2.5 * 2.5 will equal a conservative capture area of 1.25 * 1.25
