USB problems

I have two USB HID devices connected to my computer that are not recognised by the software that uses them when TrackIR software is running. (both version 4 and 5).
The errormessage I get when I open the software for these HID devices is: "Can not create device file" Somehow the TIR software prevents the other software from opening a device handle to these USB devices, altough they are present. Quitting the TIR software makes it possible again for the other software to communicate with their HID Devices.
I have a TrackIr 4 pro. OS is XP pro SP3.
Is this a known issue and is there a workaround?
