TrackClip Pro not tracking in v4 software

Hi
I received TrackIR 5 with TrackClip Pro last week and it's been great...until I decided to try the non-beta v4 software.
If I use the TrackClip Pro with it I also get the lockups/no tracking to the left and up problems I see mentioned by others here in the forum.
I do have the TrackClip Pro selected in all the profiles and I've also tried the standard recommendations given to others but the problem persists.
One question that I do have is if you have already installed the v5 beta software and then install the v4 (latest build) should you install the usb drivers when you install the v4 software? I did and maybe that's where the conflict is...or do the 2 software packages use the same drivers?
Any help would be much appreciated.
BTW, I look a little goofy wearing a hat to use TrackIR... I never wear a hat in real life.

lol

OK I've done some more checking and I now realize that if I lean forward toward the camera the software will not have any trouble tracking the pro clip. If I sit back in the chair I'm about 3 ft from the cam....I have to lean forward until I'm only about 2 ft from cam for the tracking problems to go away.
(in other words I can lean forward and it says 'tracking' in the software as long as I'm withing 2 ft of the cam. I can then slowly lean back away from the cam and it will eventually switch to 'no data' at about the 3ft range)
This isn't the case with the hat clip. It has no trouble being tracked even if I lean back further than I'd normally be. The pro clip also works just fine in the v5 beta software. It's only the v4 that acts this way.
It seems that if light filtering turned off it actually defaults to a value of 240. If turn on light filtering and lower the value it causes the tracking dots to flash red and introduces some smaller dots just to the edges of the main dots and the problems actually get worse. It's almost as if the leds aren't bright enough on the pro clip but they must be since the v5 software doesn't have any problems tracking it.
BTW, It's now night (2am) and this is in a completely dark room. other than my computer monitor nothing else is turned on so I can't think of anything that would be interfering with the ir light.

Are the TrackClip Pro objects centered in the Tracking screen?
The unchecked option for light filtering is 130.
Is the camera moved to the left side of the monitor?

Yes it is centered in the tracking screen and the camera is mounted over on the left side. I've tried many different positions.
Things I've also tried:
Installing software in root directory c:/naturalpoint/..
plugging pro clip into spare computer usb port to make sure it was receiving sufficient power.
covering exposed edges of headphones around the pro clip side with electrical tape to make sure it wasn't reflecting ir light back at camera
Any suggestions?

Just for the record I never was able to overcome this problem. It simply will not track if the pro clip if farther than about 2ft from cam.
But since all I really wanted to do was see the difference the different profiles made (flight, racing....) and you can now import the v4 profiles into the new v5 beta so it's not that big of a deal.
It still bothers me i was never able to get it to work though.
