What is the file size of the exe files you downloaded?

What version of Windows are you running?

Are you logged in as an admin?

I'm having the same problem. Vista 64. Program registers as 6.63 MB (6,959,896 bytes) and 6.64 MB (6,963,200 bytes) on disk. Definitely logged in as Admin.

When I installed latest version, I made sure everything was shutdown first. The only thing I noticed was that when I installed the latest version, it actually uninstalled the previous version and I wonder if I should have done a clean uninstall of the beta version first. Now both versions won't install.

Try running the Install shield update application

I tried and this program failed to install on my Vista 64 machine. It appears to install with no problems, but the needed software update shortcut never shows up anywhere, so I can't run the updates. This install wizard stuff is sketchy city.

This proposed solution will not work for Vista 64 users. This program is not compatible with Vista 64.

Currently, we do not support the Windows agent on 64-bit platforms. Its been submitted as a feature enhancement request under issue# IOC-000060011.

Any other suggestions?

Solution is as follows for Vista 64 Users:

I can't say that this is the definitive solution for everyone. This is the only thing that worked for me. Once you go to the website, you'll want to find the following section and download the IkernelUpdate.exe file. Here's the exact wording of the section where the download is located.

First Go to
Solution for the Driver Software Error Extracting Support Files

Then locate the section that reads

If the file version number starts with 6:

Delete the folder C:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\engine from the machine.
Download IkernelUpdate.exe.
Once downloaded, double-click it. This installs the InstallShield engine for your installation.
