Perhaps incorporate either a normal spectrum camera or make the existing sensor switchable between narrow band IR and full spectrum, i.e. have the ability of a full webcam built in, together with microphone. With the built in IR illuminators you could have autofocus and even a limited IR see-in-the-dark ability...
You could make it double as an IR transceiver for data transmission, PC remote control etc.
A longer USB cable - the extension provided with the TrackIR1 was a good idea, shame it was dropped.
Bring back the full keymapping facility, map keys to certain look areas as was done originally (and was probably the starting point in it's original use a an aid to the disabled).
Better hotkey mapping/management.
Keep up the good work!
An idea or two...

Yes, it is isn't it? Sorry, was thinking it was shorter Although, my box is to my side and to keep cables tidy and out of sight (i.e. not diagonal across the wall) I've had to use a USB extension. Works fine though!
Excellent piece of hardware...
