Yaw not symetric anymore

Hello everybody
I've been using my TrackIR3 with Vector expansion for several years now with great success and lots of fun in FS2004, running on Win XP.
For a while now I do however have a problem with the yaw axis apparently not responding in a symetrical way anymore to my head's inputs.
So to explain myself a bit better I took some screenshots to illustrate the problem:
1) View centered to 12h
To start here just as it should be: sitting straight in front of the sensor, looking straight ahead...
2) Looking right to 1h
I tried to align the upper and lower reflections so, that they're directly on top of each other.
This gives me a view of maybe 1h, 2h out of the cockpit.
3) Looking left to 11h
Again, the upper and lower reflections are directly on top of each other.
This gives me a view of maybe 10h, 11h out of the cockpit.
4) Looking right to 2h
Now I aligned the reflections so that the upper and lower are staggered (imagine a vertical line connecting right side of top blip with left border of lower blip).
This gives me a view over my shoulders, maybe 4h or 5h out of the cockpit.

5) Looking left to 10h
Same story to the left, again with a vertical line to be envisioned between upper blip's right and lower blip's left border.
As you can see I now don't look over my shoulder, but still look just a bit to the left out of the cockpit, again maybe 10h to 11h.

Note that also the yaw-gauge already detects a lower "left sided" input than when I do the same thing to the right, even though the blips seem to be nicely mirrored...
Now I can try anything I want: shift the TrackIR left to right and back, move the clip around... - but the result is the same: always looking right works well, looking left gets stuck at 10o'clock!
Of course I checked if the yaw-profile makes any sense, and yes, it's symetric.
Does anybody have an idea what causes this behaviour and how I could correct it?
Many thanks in advance for your insights!
Markus
