IR5 Installed anbut keeps crashing?

[font:Comic Sans MS][size:11pt]Installed as recommended in startup guide. Software comes up and immediately I get a error and have to close out. Uninstalled everything reinstalled but same problem. Not sure where the problem is????
Running latest S/W beta 05.b on XP.
Have a screen shot but no way to upload with this posting??[/font][/size]

Yes - My UPS Monitoring Software, My Anti-virus


What video card do you have installed?
NVIDIA GeForce 9400 GT 1G Video Memory

What video card drivers are you using?
NVIDIA 191.07

The crash is some sort of problem with dinput8.dll

I think by latest directx, he means do you have the August 2009 update. 9.0c has been around for years, but it is being updated all the time. Newest video drivers require the updated directx. Go to microsoft and get the update. The dinput8.dll error is a directx error, likely because yours is out of date. This is not a likely to be a problem if you are running windows 7, but you have offered very little info on your system, so I, and others, can only guess.

OK Complete System Description ......
Intel Dual core uP @ 3.0G
Win XP Home Edition
4G Memory @ 800mhz
120G SATA HD
NVIDIA GeForce 9400 GT 1M Video Memory
NVIDIA GeForce Driver v195.62
directx aug 2009 update
I do believe I'm running the latest of everything.
Still the same problem. Once in a while it will start & run then after 1-2 minutes the crash error message warning appears. I can ignore it & it still runs but the error message box stays on top of Xplane or FltSim X.
Gotta be a problem somewhere but I'll be darned if I can figure it out??? Could it be a defective Tracker5???
Is there anyone with the same problem?

The DirectX error would be software related, not hardware.

Does the issue occur, when using the 4.1.037 version of the TrackIR software?
