bad framerate with rFactor and TrackIR4
Hello,
when I use my TrackIr 4 with the latest TrackIR software 5.0 I have a bad framerate under rFactor.
e.g. on the same track without I have about 32 fps and when I use the TrackIR I have about 25 fps...
If I pause the TrackIr software the framerate is still the same.
If I stop the TrackIr software then the framerate is better...
Do you have some advice to solve this issue?
Thanks.

What OS are you using?
Video card, and drivers being used?
TrackIR software minimized?

My OS is Windows XP Pro SP2
My computer is a Dell Precision M65, gfx card: NVidia Quadro FX350M, driver v156.83
Yes I start the TrackIR software minimized.

Have you looked at updating to the latest version of the video card drivers, for your setup?

Yes but the problem is:
at Nvidia website, they told us to go at Dell website to download the latest version and this one is the v156.83 and you cannot go higher...
because the generic NVidia drivers don't handle the energy saver of the Dell and also don't detect when the mobile is closed and so on....
I don't know if it's true but I was not able to download a newer version...

Re: bad framerate with rFactor and TrackIR4
Here is some update:
I've sucessfully installed new drivers v179.68, even if the framerate is a little bit better using these new drivers the problem is still the same.
I can lose about 10fps when the TrackIR 5.0 software is started even if my TrackIR 4 device is not plugged!
I'm not sure the problem comes from the rFactor game because I have the same problem with the game Live For Speed.
Is there a issue with my usb drivers? or is there a new version of the TrackIR driver? Because I've seen that the date of the TrackIR driver 'npusbio.sys' is april 2007.

That is the latest version of the drivers, for the device.
Do you see this issue, if you use the 4.1.037 software?

Ok, I've installed the 4.1.037 software and all is working fine!
No bad framerate...
so what's the problem with the 5.0 version?

Does rFactor have an openGL setting within it's video settings?
Does your video card software have an openGL setting within its options?
The only major difference between the 2 applications is the IR4 uses directX, and IR5 using openGL for 3d graphics within the application itself.

Hello Vincent,
no, rFactor does not have any openGL settings.
Yes my gfx card drivers has openGL setting, but what's the point? Is there any openGL settings to be 'disabled'?
