Non tracking ir5

I bought a Track ir5 last week. It worked fine for three days. The fourth day the tracking became somewhat erratic untill it finally refused to track at all.
The unit is recognized by Windows (vista) and the Track ir software can still communicate with it. I can change the strength of the ir-dots, regulate the brightness of the leds and pause the unit from within the software. But i can't get it to track any moore. Why?

Are you using a TrackClip or TrackClip PRO?

What do you see on the Camera View in the software? Can you post a screenshot of it, with the TrackClip/TCP on and in camera view?

I use Track Clip, not Track Clip Pro. And this is what the Camera view looks like.

Were the four red IR LEDs visible on the camera when you took this screenshot?

And, forgive me if this is obvious, but you were holding the TrackClip up in front of the camera, with the view centered on it and reflective tape toward the camera?

Ha, ha, yes I were!
As I said in my first post - it worked fine the first couple of days.

It sounds like the camera's sensor might have failed. You will need to email support@naturalpoint.com with your camera's serial number (located on the tag at the end of the USB cable) and a description of the problem you've had. You should provide a link to this thread in the email as well. Our support manager will work with you to either fix or replace your TrackIR 5.

Just got my TR5 in the mail today, downloaded the software latest (ver 5 "final") and when I started it up, I got extremely erratic movement when in the default "3D first person" view. The "head" and "globe" that appear on the screen move all over the place very quickly. When I go to "camera" view, I am basically seeing myself and the background behind me in black and red (lots of red). When I have the clip on head, I see no green. When I hold the clip in my hand and move in slowly ANYWHERE in front of the camera, I get no green dots or anything else that would indicate the camera is picking up the clip at all.

I have uninstalled and re-installed the software and tried all troubleshooting advice available. I don't see any other posts with this problem, so I have to think I have a bad unit. WHen I tried this in FSX (after all of the troubleshooting and re-installs), I get the same erratic behavior. The views flas all around the cockpit wildly.

Please assist. My next move is to send it back. Very disappointed.
