one-camera face tracking

Hey folks,

I'm looking into a project using face tracking hardware built into a creature suit, in order to move animatronics on the character outside.

My main constraint is going to be space; I notice that for Avatar they used a single camera system with markerless tracking (which of course is going to be very expensive) to do the faces, and I was wondering if something like this with a single camera and reflective markers would be feasible.

Any suggestions? Can I just grab a V100R2 and integrate it into the suit?

Thanks,

Varka

Currently you need a multicamera system for tracking with our facial motion capture software:

Another member of this forum has posted single camera face tracking software which you could try :

Hello,

Thanks for your reply.

The second link to the one-camera face tracking doesn't work, stating 'Access denied'. Can you confirm it's accessible when logged out?

thanks,

Jan

The link was more than likely to Zign Track - a single-camera face-tracking software solution.

http://www .zigncreations .com/zigntrack.html

Essentially it takes a videotape of the actor face - WITH markers (Avatar had markers as well) - and then the solution is derived from the video. Zign Track 2 and Pro should be coming out soon.
