TrackIR 5 Tracking Problem

Hello everyone,
I just got a TrackIR 5. I finished all installation procedures and downloaded latest driver for this product.
The problem is it's not working correctly.
When I start the software, I see some strange movements on the screen, even if I don't move my head. Moreover the light of the camera (left side) is kinda weird, as its not working continously. Sometimes its flashing.
I tried the producet with Dirt 2, HAWX and Il2- Sturmovik. And its completely making strange movements. It's not standing still, and i cant control it.
I tried both with headset and head clip.
I tried TrackIR 4. And same issue.
I'm really annoyed at the moment. I think it's somekind of driver problem of my PC. But i cant figure it out.
I'm waiting for your responses. =)
Here's my gig:
Vista 64 bit
Gigabyte p35
Core2Duo E8400
Sapphire Radeon 4890
4 GB Corsair RAM

By the way i've tried both of the products (TrackIR 4 and 5) on XP 32bit and I'm still getting the same problem.
These products were working on my friend's PC before.

Hi.
Cato here.
I have the exact same problem as mentioned above.
Had the product for about 6 months and only just started this now.
Works fine for about 5 minutes and then the power light starts flickering and headmovement goes awall.
I am running Win 7 ultimate x86 now and have been for a few months (beta included) had no issues before and no issues with Xp SP2 or 3.
I am using headclip I have cleaned both the screen and the clip. lights both on and off.
I really hope there is a know solution to this. Or that it atleast has been registered before somewhere.
I am using Tracker for DCS Blackshark, LOMAC FC, rFactor, GTL, GTR2, Race07 series, ArmA and ArmA II, Wings of Prey, IL2 1946, Rise Of Flight.
Now this happens mostly in LOMAC FC, but also in the rest of the games just not as frequently. Now I am puzzled, as I have tried different drivers and so on.
It just seems like the camera is loosing connection or cannot see the clip.
Camera is center screen and clip is cap mounted at about 50 CM distance.
Hope thats enough info for someone to understand the problem and maybe have a solution beyond "buy a new one"

When looking in the software (version 5x) on the right hand side there will be a camera window. In that camera view do you see just the 3 green objects, any red or gray objects?
The flashing of the green LED on the left of the camera indicates that the software/hardware is losing track of the tracking object (the TrackClip).

Thanks for the reply.
Yes I have used that cam in the past aswell. Checking what the cam can see. Three green dots... Adjusting the settings make them stronger. (and your hand in front makes a big red blob)
The thing is that it works fine for a while and then starts to flicker, with no change to settings or enviroment.
It is what you say, the same as if you would move away from cam and make the IR not "see" the clip, only it goes at a rapid speed. Compare it to a machine-gun fire if you like.
It has worked fine for the day, in both LockOn and ArmA II.
Hope it was a day or two (well short week) issue that passed by it self. I installed the latest beta drivers again today, and after that it has been fine.
I will report again if it occurs.
Cato.

In the "Device Manager" you can right click the "USB Root Hub"(s), that show, and then select properties. On the power management tab, uncheck the box that allows the computer to turn off the USB port to save power (i.e. uncheck the box). Sometimes that has an impact on the connectivity of the devices.

Yes, I did that also, no difference, but as mentioned above, I have not had issues now after the lates beta drivers.
It could have had some issues regarding another issue I had.
My G-25 died bit by bit and after unplugging that and play with other controllers, I have had no issues.
the issue did however NOT return when plugging the dying G-25 back in, but as far as I can see, my tracker is not bug-free and working as it should, so I am back to being happy
