Software not loading

Hi,

First off, sorry if this is common but after searching for a while with so many threads of 'Trackir problem' subject lines, I thought I'd save some frustration and just post.

I have had the trackir installed for a long time but had it unplugged from my computer for several months. I never uninstalled the software. I plugged it back in today. It asked for the disc to find the drivers, which was completed.

I see a blue light on the trackir but when I try to open the software, I get either nothing happen at all (I see it stuck in my 'processes') or I get a general 'an error has occured and the program must close; any unsaved data will be lost' message.

I am using the track-clip, not the Pro (although I do have that in it's package). Windows XP. I don't know what other details to give :-)

What version of the TrackIR software are you using?

In the following folder location, C:\Program Files\NaturalPoint\TrackIR4\Profiles, what is the file size for each profile?

What video card drivers/software do you have installed?

I have 4.1.030, but I believe it was updated to 5 before I reinstalled it.

The largest profile is about 5kb.

I am sorry I am not proficient with computers - where can I check what the video card is?

lets try a clean install of the software -

Remove the TrackIR software by doing the following:

a. Click "Start"

b. Click on the "Control Panel"

c. Click "Add/Remove Programs"

d. Find "TrackIR" and click "Change/Remove"

e. Once launched it will give the option to completely remove it.

f. Delete the NaturalPoint folder at the following location, C:\Program Files\NaturalPoint

g. Download and reinstall the software from the following location,
