TrackIR won't work after Windows 7 reinstall

TrackIR 5 worked with iRacing but stopped working after Windows 7 was reinstalled.
I installed it on a month old machine running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit and it worked fine with iRacing.
I had to reninstall Windows today so that I could enable a Raid system and TrackIR 5 no longer works with iRacing.
TrackIR works fine in its program in that both green lights illuminate and moving my head moves the grid thing. The Device Manaqer is happy with it. But, when I then start iRacing only one green light illuminates and the screen stays locked.
I uninstalled the TrackIR software, unplugged the USB cable, rebooted twice, plugged in the USB and got the same results.
I unintalled both the TracIR and iRacing software and still no go.
What's next?

I think i'm having the same problem. I was running the Windows 7 Trial version since last year and switched to professional yesterday.
I have the TrackIr 4 and use the TrackIR 5 software. The headtracking is working in the TrackIr 5 software but not ingame (Tried ArmA2 and DCS).

Have you tried right clicking on the exe file, for each application, and selecting run as admin?

Yeah, just tried again to make sure.
Even tried running it in compatibility mode for XP SP3 and every combination of them. And both in Administrator mode etc.
What i did exactly is that i left the hardware where it was, and just installed the new windows 7 professional. In the installation screen i reset all the partitions for my hard drive, since i discovered that my usual 20gb partition for the XP installation weren't enough anymore for windows 7.

Was this a clean install of Windows 7, or an update install?
You have tried reinstallig the TrackIR software?
Made sure, in ArmA 2, Under Options -> Controls -> Controller, and make sure the TrackIR is enabled

A clean install (formatted the whole drive).
Yes, i even disconnected the hardware (reconnected it of course).
Did that too.

That did it. I installed the TrackIr 4 software and the games started working. After reinstalling the TrackIr 5 software it works too. As it appears, the TrackIr 5 software might be lacking something for the TrackIR 4 hardware.
