TrackIR 5 crashes with antivirus software

Hello,

I installed TrackIR 5.0 final on two different PCs, one freshly set up from scratch. At best, the software starts the first time after (re)installation but crashes afterwards.
Either the windows opens and closes at once, or you get the Windows message that "TrackIR has caused a problem and will be closed".

After trying and searching the forum of the German distributor, TrackIR seems to be incompatible with some anti virus scanners - at least Antivir, which is very popular in Europe.

See "Desktop" and "Free Antivirus" to get a reduced version.

Only after a complete uninstall of the scanner, TrackIR 5 would work.

Tried on Windows XP - SP3.

I wouldn't buy another scanner just to get TrackIR working. Would you please check out whats the problem of this incompatibility?

Does the application have a firewall, network connection filter built into it?

Hi Vincent. No, it's a plain antivirus program. It contains "anti rootkit" and "anti spyware" functions, but no network control. This would come only with the high-priced Internet security version.
