Trackir v.5 does not work

Hallo
Since more then 2 yeras I use Trackir 4. Now I bought the Trackir 5 camera. She works very well ! It`s an improuvement over the 4.0.
But I tryed out the new software 5 and was dissapointed: 8 of 10 times I tryed to open the software I get an Windows error message: "Trackir 5.0 hat ein Problem festgestellt und muss beendet werden"
Now I use again the version 4.1. without problems.
The problem appears on my both computer !!!!!
My system specs:
Computer 1:
Intel Quadcore x 3.0 Ghz
4 Mb RAM
2x ATI 4800 1 Gb RAM as crossfire (with newest driver)
Windows XP32 SP2
Computer 2:
Intel Duacore 2 x 2.56 Ghz
4 Mb RAM
Nvidia 2x 512 Nb RAM in SLI mode
Windows Vista 64
Perhaps anybody has an Idea ??!

Yes same problem here.
I have been unable to use Trackir 5 software at all with BS or now with FC2.
Trackir 4 works like a charm. No go with trackir 5 it is unable to stabalise and is unusable. It is not an issue with light background as experience the problem whether in the dark or in the light. I've given up with the version 5 drivers.
I'm using Win 7 64 bit OS/ATI 5850 cat 10.3 drivers.

I won't speculate too much on Doc's problem, as it sounds like something that our support manager Vince would be better suited to handle. (Maybe a corrupted profile XML?) But, I think he's having issues related to the general operation of the software--not the actual tracking.
While more information (like a detailed description of the behavior as well as a screen shot of the Camera View window during the instability) would be useful to pinpoint what might be going on, I'm assuming you're having issues with the head tracking quality? If this is the case, your problem sounds unrelated to Doc's, and is certainly worth troubleshooting if you'd like. You're welcome to use the version 4 software if you prefer, but for 99% of users, the 5.0 software is completely stable with improved functionality over 4.x. I would recommend troubleshooting with Vince before abandoning it completely. Just my 2 cents.

Are you running any other applications, down by the clock, on the task bar?
What video card drivers are you using?

I`m running NO other applikations. Even my Norton-Antivir I have stoped ! I stoped really everything (on both Computers) possibel (even the clock

As a user of ATI-Graka on my desktop-comp. I use the Catalyst Software/Driver. I already tryed out old (9.3) and the newest drivers. On my Laptop I have the newest NVIDIA - drivers.
I stoped the crossfire / SLI, I disabeld the Catalyst Software, ..... The result is always the same on both (the XP32 and the Vista64 - Computer) after starting the software I get the error message: "Trackir 5.0 hat ein Problem festgestellt und muss beendet werden"

A little video of the issues with my TrackIR 5- it can work for as much as 20 seconds before its goes haywire- often moving 180 degrees completely at randon. Is this a hardware issue with my device?
Win 7 64 bit. Catalyst 10.3 drivers, anti virsus software disabled.
Any thoughts gents?

Could you shoot another video with the same behavior, but with the Camera View open? It's useful to see what the camera itself is seeing, but it's too small in this vid to see the small thumbnail on top. The full blown Camera View window would be ideal.

Are you using the TrackClip, or the TrackClip Pro?

Does this occur if the TrackIR device is unplugged from the system when you start the IR software?
