I just recently upgraded to the 5.0b

now everytime I open trackIR the screen scrambles all over the place and won't centre. it was working just fine. i changed USB ports, uninstalled and re-installed...nothing.

Any ideas?

Looking at the camera view, within the TrackIR software, do you see more than 3 green tracking points? Any red?

Are you using the TrackClip, or the TrackClip Pro?

I'm having exactly same problem my track IR is freaking out like mad, on the Track IR software camra view, I see some red, meaning some heat, but I cannot find this source of heat and its driving my poor track ir 5 insane :< My track IR is also pretty new so it's quite dissapointing, help please! Does sunlight possibly affect the track IR, it isn't creating much heat, but that means the track IR is useless in most conditions for me, (daytime)...

Hi Takedown. The key isn't heat, but rather infrared light. The sun puts out massive quantities of IR, and since that's what TrackIR is designed to track, it will interfere with the tracking. If you only have a little bit of IR visible, and it's not in the center 80% or so of the sensor's view, you'll probably be OK. But if that IR light is overlapping with the TrackClip's dots, it will destabilize tracking significantly.

Most users with windows in view of their TrackIR will either hang a blanket over the window, angle the TrackIR camera differently, or move their monitor/desk to a different position in the room.

Note that ambient light in the room typically fine. I use my TrackIR during the day all the time here at the office. It's just sunlight in particular that is problematic.

Thanks seth, I have another problem today, one of my dots keeps going "red" instead of green on camra display, destabilizing the tracker. why is this happening?

Glad you were able to improve your results with light filtering. A red light means that it is being seen by the TrackIR sensor, but the software is rejecting it as a solution. This often happens when another light source is interfering. If you can provide a screen shot of the Camera View window when this is happening, it should help us dial in what's going on.
