Wireless USB and Track IR

I have a media room that I want to move the gaming computer, The computer will be in a closet about 8-10 feet away from the viewing position(s.

My idea was to have a wireless USB hub behind the seats and setup the IR receiver behind the seats and reverse the axis in the software and use the hat clip pointed toward the rear.

I'm still researching wireless USB, has anyone had any experience with it? does it work pretty well? Would there be any problems with this setup?

EDIT: after some investigating since I don't really need more then the TrackIR hooked up to the USB at the viewing location, i was wondering if this would be slightly better? it only supports USB 1.1 however.. would this be a problem or slow down / delay the track IR movement?

The TrackIR supports USB 1.1, but you want to make sure that the USB port itself is up to USB specifications of 500mA per port, as some hubs have been known to underpower the port.

What about a USB dongle over Ethernet then? if it is NOT powered on the end then would it not supply 500ma? or will it matter over ethernet?

here is the info for the link above:

"USB Extender over CAT5E or CAT6 connection
USB specifications limit the maximum run for USB to only 15ft. This can make placement of USB devices difficult especially in a wide area. Our USB over Cat5e/6 Extender eliminates the range limit obstacle by allow you to extend USB connection over an astounding 150ft by using cheap, economical Cat5e/6 cables. This can be especially convenient if you already have unused ethernet cabling pre-installed in your walls.

Installation is simple. Just connect one piece to your computer or powered USB hub, the other piece to your USB peripheral device and connect a ethernet patch cable in between. The device is self powered so there's no need to connect any power adapters."
