Custom Tracking Hardware

This probably isn't the right place to post this, but what would be required to make ones own head tracking, either passive (IR Reflective tape) or active (LEDs)?

I am trying to outfit a flight helmet for flight sim use, and neither the hat clip or proclip work with it. (Trying to make it relatively unobtrusive.) I plan on attaching my contracption via the ANVIS mounting point on the front of the helmet visor guard.

3 points of reflective tape doesn't seem to track sucessfully more than 5 degrees off axis. (Then it goes complely wonky.)

Thanks for any guidance available!

Hi Omega,

The math behind the 6 DOF tracking in our software is very particular, in that it is looking for the markers to be in a specific arrangement. Because of this, the software does not support custom tracking clips. If you can recreate the exact proportions of either the Track Clip or TCP, you might be able to make it work, but this is far from certain.
